riteShape Examples

Original shapes appear in blue and light green, smoothed shapes - in red. In these examples, the red corrected shape overlays a light green version of the original to demonstrate differences between the two.

riteShape - Automatic Shape Alignment

This page illustrates just a few features of the new automatic shape alignment technology included in riteShape.

If two or more circles or rectangles seem to be positioned along a horizontal or a vertical line, their size and center positions are adjusted.

If a circle or rectangle is drawn inside another circle or rectangle around approximately the same point, the inner figure is made concentric with the outer.

Connecting lines and arrows between shapes are aligned to fit the shapes' boundaries.

If some straight lines are drawn to get a table-like grid, the ends of lines are adjusted.

If polygons' vertexes appear to belong to other shapes, the position of these vertexes is adjusted.

If two polygonal shapes (a quadrangle and a triangle, for example) appear to have a common side, those shapes are brought together.

Possibilities for the new natural charting metaphor are infinite...
