This page explains the numerous new features and improvements in the
Standard Edition of ritePen 3.1 compared
with the previous version 3.0. Changes reflect our own product development plans
and accommodate user requests and feedback for version 3.0. (For new features in

- Expanded Punctuation Pane.
Per your requests, we have added many special symbols and actions
to the Punctuation pane.
|
- Multiple letter
corrections and letter alternatives in WordMenu.
By user requests,
correcting several letters at a time is now possible in ritePen's WordMenu. In
addition, whenever your are correcting just one letter, you may choose letter
variants from the drop-down menu.

 |

|
- "Boxed" input in WordMenu.
Carets for separate letters in the WordMenu are now provided for convenience of corrections (see screenshots above).
|
- Improved correction of selected text.
When selected text in the middle of a word is
corrected, trailing space is not added.
|
- Copying Pen Macros.
Copy button has been added to Macros tab in settings. It copies the body of a handwritten shortcut
to facilitate reusing its content or keeping the shortcut under different names.
|
- "Pen only input" mode.
In this mode, mouse, touchpad and other navigational devices will not collect
ritePen's digital ink. This is particularly helpful for owners of convertible
Tablet PCs or UMPCs, since ritePen will enable full-screen handwriting in the
slate configuration and will release mouse and touchpad for navigation in the
clamshell configuration.
|
- Improvements in intelligent navigation
and recognition, including Microsoft Office 2007 applications and double-clicks
with the pen.
- Added option to automatically start ritePen after system reboot.
- Enlarged graphical elements of WordMenu for easy navigation.
|
- Portuguese handwriting
recognition is now supported.
