They got it right...

7/16/2010 5:00:00 PM User Story - Dr. Rechtman

I am a physician working in the biologics/biotech industry. As such I do a good deal of writing; reports, manuscripts, answers to questions from staff and customers etc. Given the nature of the work a fair amount of the responses to questions can be repetitious. I have long found it convenient to write using a pen on a computer screen with the help of a program such as ritePen. The recognition engine has always been, in my opinion, the best available. But with Version 4 they have taken it to a whole new level.

Recent editions of ritePen have brought added functionality in the form of Ink Commands. After setting up some Ink Commands I am now able to write more quickly. The ability to automate words and phrases to a single key word or letter is a great time saver. More importantly the ability to map command keystrokes and application calls to keywords or letters mean that I am able to keep my notebook in slate mode all the time while retaining full control of the computer via the pen. I also do not need to manipulate windows to reach a desktop shortcut if I want to invoke a program. And now, with the ability to import and export pen commands in Version 4, sharing the same collection of commands among my work, home and travel computers is extremely simple. In my opinion Evernote has created the "killer app" for the Tablet PC. With apologies to Steve Jobs with ritePen if you see a pen they got it right.
